iKAN Software launches iKAN Link application for legacy and line of business systems

02/17/09 - iKAN Software, a leader in document imaging, today announced the launch of its latest module for linking systems to document management and content management systems.

iKAN Software is a developer of document management software that is supported as a cloud application or as an installed, web based, software application. The software allows the capture, classification and retrieval of documents. iKAN also develops connectors and adapters that allows the Virtual Document Center to interact with and output data and documents to any ECM system.

Using TruFile technology, iKAN Link uses window or zone information to extract information from any legacy system or even from terminal screens and utilize that data to create consistent folder hierarchies and document names WITHOUT user intervention. Users can scan documents from the business application and the documents will be created, securely uploaded, and filed into the Virtual Document Center, SharePoint repository or nearly any industry ECM system. Using the iKAN Link View button, users can easily retrieve documents without leaving the business application.

For batch processing, users can create TruFile barcode labels from the business application, apply the barcode to each document eliminating duplicate data entry and accelerating document acquisition. Documents are automatically separated, indexed and filed using the created barcode. iKAN Software integrates the Dymo Label™ printer for easy barcode label creation.

“We are extremely excited about this application”, said Ed Amash, CEO and partner of iKAN Software. “We have already proved that this new application works with an AS400 system – the prospective customer was very impressed both with the ease of use and rapid implementation and has signed up with iKAN. We see this as a panacea to all those legacy systems that are clumsy, outdated and unable to create, classify and view documents. Coupled with our hosted service or our installed system, this will allow users greater freedom to answer questions easily and file documents natively, saving businesses time and money. Our Link application is equally at home adding documents to your ECM system as our own document repository. We are encouraging users to create documents using Link as we know they are filed consistently and accurately using our TruFile architecture.”

iKAN Software announces integration with Microsoft SharePoint

11/01/08 - iKAN Software, a leader in document imaging, today announced the availability of vDOC for SharePoint, integrating its line of document capture technology software solutions with Microsoft SharePoint.

iKAN Software is a developer of document management software that is supported as a cloud application or as an installed, web based software application. The software allows the capture, classification and retrieval of documents. iKAN also develops connectors and adapters that allows the Virtual Document Center to interact with and output data and documents to any ECM system – now including Microsoft SharePoint.  Firms can now utilize Microsoft SharePoint as a repository for their scanned documents as well as their existing electronic documents.

Using TruFile technology, users can now scan documents, automatically acquire metadata about the document, and securely and consistently file it in a SharePoint repository without human intervention. This assures the business of accurate and timely filing of documents in a usable repository that can be accessed in SharePoint at any time.

“Microsoft SharePoint is one of the fastest growing applications around and is becoming a de facto standard in the business community for collaboration and basic document management”, said Micah Wray, Co Founder of iKAN Software. “We’re seeing strong demand for a tool that can enhance SharePoint to provide a true document management repository for many different types of applications and businesses.  Now customers can add scanned images from any location using a scanner to any existing SharePoint repository. This enables remote workers to access documents currently in file cabinets, for example, extending ability for a company’s users to get access to the information they need to do their jobs more timely and efficiently.
