Using the Virtual Document Center solution, users will scan their documents and have them linked directly into Dynamics SL accounting screens where they can be retrieved by clicking a “View Image” button. The documents are processed using barcode recognition technology, and the images are stored in the Virtual Document Center, providing safe, secure access for their customer documents. “The feedback we have received has been very positive and complimentary, and we plan to expand on this offering and make it available to other Dynamics SL accounting users” stated David Huether, General Manager of Nextec’s Houston Office. March, 2007 – iKAN Software Completes Deal Room Application for Financial Services Firm Statesman Business AdvisorsiKAN Software has adapted its Virtual Document Center software application to function as a “deal room”, allowing outside investors secure access to documents related to buying and selling assets. For each new sale, Statesman Business Advisors scans due diligence and other related documents and places them in various folders, each with varying levels of access and security. Depending upon the interest level, login ID’s are assigned to interested parties, allowing them access to the folders they are allowed to view. This provides a much more granular level of control over who is seeing what information pertaining to a transaction, and saves considerable time in copying and mailing additional information to interested parties. November 3, 2006 – iKAN Software makes Houston Fast Tech 50iKAN Software joined Houston’s fastest growing technology companies when it was awarded a spot on the Fast Tech 50 list. Based on year over year revenue growth, the award is a reflection of its continued commitment to customer satisfaction and its desire to grow. October 2006 - iKAN Software Releases Plugin for Adobe AcrobatiKAN Software announced availability today of a new software product designed for the easy capture of paper documents from a Fujitsu Scan Snap S500 workgroup scanner. Called the Adobe Plug-In for the iKAN Virtual Document Center, the product is primarily aimed at providing users with a simple user interface to scan and file their documents directly to a document repository. The first supported repository is the iKAN Virtual Document Center. “The plug-in extends the functionality of the Fujitsu ScanSnap by allowing users to classify documents on the fly for direct classification into their chosen repository” stated Micah Wray, Chief Technology Officer of iKAN Software. “ Before the plug-in, users had to provide a file name for each document they scanned, and tell their system which folder to put the document into. There was no automatic filing or search retrieval capability” he continued. Now, users can use a scanner like the Fujitsu ScanSnap to create a very affordable desktop solution for remote offices locations and small businesses. Users install the plug-in from a web download which installs into the Adobe Acrobat toolbar. The software also supports the ability to read bar codes, and provide document separation. “We’re field testing the product right now, and from the initial feedback we’re getting, users are thrilled. It’s an extremely easy to use product, and provides a very cost effective way for users in the field to add documents directly into their company repositories. We also now have a way to enforce company filing standards, and help companies to standardize on a document input method that is compliant” said Ed Amash, CEO if iKAN Software. The plug-in for Adobe Acrobat is $99. August, 2006 – iKAN Software receives Microsoft ISV certificationiKAN Software received its Certified Microsoft Partner status for the successful testing of its document scanning solution that works in conjunction with its iKAN Virtual Document Center product. By submitting their application to the testing and certification process that Microsoft has in place, the solution is validated by the world’s largest software company. Microsoft certification helps to assure users that the product been tested and has met Microsoft’s stringent requirements. iKAN Software has been developing and deploying its software solutions for document imaging and document management since 1999. They have leveraged this expertise to create a complete document management solution based on a Software as a Service. August, 2005 – Foley’s Department Stores goes live with Check21 applicationFoley’s Department Stores, a division of the May Department Store (today Federated Department Stores), went live with a production version of a Check21 application designed and implemented by iKAN Software. Checks scanned in a local store cash office will be transmitted electronically to JP Morgan Chase bank, where they are then sent to the Federal Reserve for clearing. The process reduces the amount of manual work required to process a check at the store level, and reduces the float time in clearing checks written to store. “Once again, iKAN Software has delivered a successful project implementation for Foleys” commented Chuck Pearce, VP of IT for Foleys. “We had been engaged with other vendors for nearly a year and had not received a working product. With iKAN, we were able to go from concept to development, implementation, testing, and production in 3 months” he continued. The solution uses a check scanner from Digital Check corporation to scan the check items and read the different areas. The MICR line at the bottom of the check is recorded via an OCR process. The check courtesy amount (CAR) and the check legal amount (LAR) are read using sophisticated handwriting recognition software that compares the two to make sure they match. If it doesn’t or an item such as the signature is missing, it flags the user for review. Foley’s sees numerous benefits for the use if this technology. Primarily the application reduces float times for check clearing, and helps to minimize check fraud. |
