iKAN Check21

iKAN Check21 is a solution for retail and service establishments that receive checks as payment and want to improve their handling process. With the enactment of Check21 legislation is late 2004, paper checks can be replaced with an electronic image (known as an IRD or Image Replacement Document) that can be used to clear against the Federal Reserve electronically.

The business benefit is that now checks can be scanned on premise and transmitted electronically to the bank, instead of filling out a deposit slip and going to the bank. The check clearing process is faster meaning cash is recognized sooner.
